In 2017 we flew south to visit our friends at Frontera de Cristo, a PCUSA ministry on the border of Douglas, AZ and Agua Prieta, Mexico. There, we met Jesus. We met him in the stories of migrants, weary in the shelter after journeys that broke their bodies and our hearts. We met him in the laughter of recovering drug addicts, whose joy in daily tasks reminded us to give thanks. We met him in dry, harsh landscape, not too unlike the desert of our ancestor's wondering.

Since then, we've supported a grant to install solar panels for the drug rehabilitation center Frontera de Cristo supports, and have been working to evangelize our church and communities to pay attention to our nation's southernmost border. We're convinced the Holy lives there. And we're committed to working for these folks who have already taught us more about love than we could have imagined.

We're going back this fall. Come with us. No prior experiences or understanding necessary. A pre-trip reading and prep group begins this August. Jump on in.
